  • Visa Application Form: Two visa application forms per applicant properly completed and signed. Signature must be original on each application. Improperly completed forms may delay the processing of your visa.
  • Photo Requirements: One recent 2 x 2 passport type photograph(s), in color, front view and with a plain/light background.
  • Other Forms: Applicants within New York jurisdiction: An original letter of employment, certifying that the applicant is an employee of the company and in good standing. The letter must indicate the dates for which leave was approved and the intended date of return to the company.
  • Proof of Departure: Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency, and/or copy of airline ticket. Applicants within Houston jurisdiction must provide a copy of airline ticket.
  • Hotel Confirmation: Please provide one copy of confirmed hotel and/or cruise reservation(s.) If staying in various hotels, please provide copies of each reservation. A letter from inviting family member or friend is required if they are providing accommodations to the applicant.
  • Financial Requirements: Applicants within New York jurisdiction: Evidence of sufficient funds to support stay in destination such as pay stubs, traveler’s cheques, and/or most recent bank statement
  • Other Requirements: Applicants requesting a multiple entry visa to China must provide a letter stating the need for a multiple entry visa and the dates of future travel to the country.
  • Fees
    Service Fee: - 3-5 business days processing are available for additional fees. Service fee for regular processing is $175.00. Rush service fee of $250.00 will be assessed for any attempts to process the visa in less than regular processing time.
  • Visa Validity: Single entry visas are to be used within 3 months of issue. Double entry visas can be issued for 3 or 6 months, but usually 3 months. Multiple entry visas are based on the invitation for either 6 or 12 months. Time allowed to stay in China is 30 days for most visas.
  • Visa Processing Time- Visas are usually processed in 5 working days. Rush and Emergency service may be available for additional fees. Please visit our Consular Fees page for details. Rush and Emergency service is defined as any attempt made by Travisa to retrieve the visa in less time than the amount required by the embassy to process the visa.

    Non-refundable tickets or reservations should not be purchased until all visas and passports are secured and in your possession.

TRANSIT

  • Business Letter: Letter from employer (i.e. airline) or sponsoring company, on company letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant’s employment status/position held in the company, employee number, and clearly stating that the applicant requires a visa as a crew member.
  • Hotel Confirmation: Please provide one copy of confirmed hotel and/or cruise reservation(s.) If staying in various hotels, please provide copies of each reservation. A letter from inviting family member or friend is required if they are providing accommodations to the applicant.
  • Other: Applicants within Los Angeles jurisdiction: Original Crew ID must be submitted.
  • Other Requirements: Applicants requesting a multiple entry visa to China must provide a letter stating the need for a multiple entry visa and the dates of future travel to the country.

Other Forms: Visa Notification issued by an authorized Chinese unit (usually the Foreign Affairs Office of the local government.)

Proof of Departure: Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency, copy of airline ticket or a corporate letter stating travel plans. A signed letter on the travel agency’s letterhead confirming round-trip booking may also be submitted.

Hotel Confirmation: Copy of confirmed hotel and/or cruise reservation(s.) If staying in various hotels, please provide copies of each reservation. A letter from inviting family member or friend is required if they are providing accommodations to the applicant.

Other Requirements: Please submit either one of the following documents:
1) Original Work Permit for Aliens issued by the Chinese Ministry of Labor and Social Security and its copy.
2) Original Foreign Expert's Working Permit issued by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.

Visa Validity:  Applicants traveling for "Teaching" purposes will be issued a work visa (Z Type) valid for three months from date of issuance and allowing one entry into the country. The holder of a (Z) visa shall go through residential formalities in the local public security department within thirty days of entry into China.
